Apple may introduce USB-C to its iPhones in 2020, and the iPhone 12 may be the first to get it. This will potentially unlock super fast charging speeds of up to 50W. Aside from some of Apple's MacBooks and the iPad Pro, Apple has stuck with the Lightning connector since time immemorial.
In fact, the Californian firm may be required by law to change its charge port. The EU is currently discussing legislation that would force a charging-port standard upon every smartphone manufacturer; if passed, the law would require Apple to switch to USB Type-C in Europe.
